Hi! I’m Emma King, I moved to Buckingham in September 2015 with my husband, Tim. Since moving here we have really enjoyed being part of this church. We feel God has really blessed us by providing new friendships and of course the opportunity to be working on the same team here at St Peter and St Pauls!
I’m really excited to be starting my new role as Part-time Childrens Worker, and am really looking forward to continue getting to know the children and families here at church. I grew up in Binfield, a small village in Berkshire. As a teenager I joined the local church youth group where I made some amazing friends and felt really loved and appreciated. When I was 14 I then became a Christian, whilst at Spring Harvest where I encountered God in a very powerful way. After this I got really involved in my church’s children and youth groups, helping out and serving!
I have always had a passion for working with children and young people. When I was 18 I moved to Devizes, Wiltshire, and completed a three-year Degree in Youth, Community Work and Practical Theology with Bristol CYM! This was an amazing experience, and God taught me so many things. I really grew up and used this time to explore God’s call on my life. Whilst doing this degree I also worked for 3 years as a trainee youth worker in an Anglican church which really enhanced my experience.
I also met Tim in Devizes, and just before moving here we got married! I really love getting creative, this came in handy for our home-made themed wedding! I love getting to know new people and spending time with friends and family. I’ve always had a passion for drama, singing and dance, as well as cooking and baking! I love to explore new places and hope that one day Tim and I can have the chance to go travelling together!
I really look forward to settling into my new role, and seeing what God has planned for our children and young people!
