29th March 2020 The Fifth Sunday of Lent – Passion Sunday
Well! A lot has happened since the last notice sheet! Each week brings another step in the evolving Coronavirus Crisis. Now we are in lockdown and the country has almost come to a standstill. Only basic essentials & emergency activities are permitted and most of us are (should be!) at home.
The message is “Stay at home” but how we interpret social distancing and isolation, and what classes as essential seems to have a few folk confused.
Buckingham Parish Church is now closed – for everything, indeed the doors are now locked. For all enquiries please phone or email the relevant person and see the “Useful contacts section” at the end of this notice sheet.
The church is people, not the building; we are the Body of Christ and we remain open for prayer, communication and support; the staff team are still working to deliver their ministries in new and exciting ways. See on!
Remember – SERVICES CONTINUE – they are still live-streamed.
“Stay At Home”
but also This church is alive and well!
Most merciful God,
who by the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ
delivered and saved the world:
grant that by faith in him who suffered on the cross
we may triumph in the power of his victory;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Pray through the week for:
· those who are ill including Sharon Webb and others known to us
· all those who mourn, that they may be comforted by God’s presence.
