21st October 2018                                                  21st Sunday after Trinity

Welcome to Buckingham Parish Church - If you are new or just visiting do please make yourself known to one of the clergy or the welcome team – we’d love to get to know you. We have great provision for children in all our services. At the 9.30am service there are age-appropriate groups for ages 3 to Yr 6. There are also two zones at the back of church for younger children to play whilst the service continues and they are in the care of their parent/carer. At our 11am service we have a group for primary aged
children and at 6pm we have a group for children in Yr 3 – Yr 6 as well as our Youth Group. The Tower Room is available in all services and has the service streamed in. It is a quieter place to go but children using it will need to be supervised by a parent/carer at all times. Please note that our 9.30am and 6.00pm services will be ‘live streamed’. If you don’t wish to be included, please sit at the rear of the church or in the side aisles. All that is recorded (for viewing later) is the sermon, featuring only the preacher.

Gussie is retiring after over 6 years of fantastic service in this Benefice, particularly in the villages, and will be sadly missed by us all. If you would like to make a contribution towards a leaving gift for Gussie please do so via the church office.

SOS Shelter:   We are opening the SOS shelter from 1st November.  We need a team of 3 males plus 1 or 2 females to be on stand-by to attend if we have a female guest.  Also a ‘room keeper’ to attend guest’s departure and get the room ready for re-use.  The room may only be used a few times over the winter so this is not onerous but is demanding when in use!  If you feel called to help email Paul Burgess at pauljohn316@burgessbuilding.com.

Traidcraft Special Event:  There will be a Christmas shopping stall on Saturday 27th October 10:30 – 12noon in church.  Cards, foods, gifts.  Orders will be taken.

Lots of different crafts to try - glass painting, needle felting, card making and more, and there will be drinks and nibbles too! Tickets £10 each, there are 50 available and they can be bought from the church office, email women@bpchurch.uk or speak to Hannah Roskell to book a ticket. Do invite friends too!

Bookstall:  There is a new selection of books, bibles and CDs for your
Autumn reading and listening.  Please do take a few minutes to have a look.  If you would like me to obtain a particular book or to recommend a suitable book, please contact zenagreig@hotmail.co.uk

Food Bank:  Thank you for your kind donations. As December approaches we now need to collect Christmas products, mince pies, puddings, small boxes of chocolates etc. We make up many extra bags for families but these have to be delivered during the first weeks of December.  So we have to prepare early, your early donations would be most appreciated.  Many thanks.
