Crib Service: On Sunday 17th December, we are having a Crib Service at 9.30am. It would be great to have lots of children come to the service dressed up as angels, shepherds, kings or animals (sheep or cows). It will be a great time when we can all join in with the Christmas story. For more information, please contact Tom Brice email email@example.com
Outreach Team: We are organising an outreach team to serve our community through social action, talking to people, prayer and food amongst others. George Pinnegar firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Christmas Day Lunches: Sadly there is no Churches Together Christmas Day lunch at the Community Centre. Instead we are hoping that individuals in the churches will invite people to eat with them. A grant of £15 per guest is available to help with the cost of a present. If you would like to host someone for lunch please let the office know.
Food Bank - Help Needed: The number of requests for food parcels is growing and we urgently need more volunteers to help with food shopping and deliveries. If you can help, or would like further information first, please give us a call. Gill and Keith 01280 815100.
Marriage Course: We are looking to form a team to help run the Marriage Course starting in mid-January. It will run on Friday evenings and lasts for 7 weeks. We need a catering team (to serve pre-cooked food), washing-up team & set-up team. This is an important course and I pray a few people will offer to help run this. If you are new to BPC this is a great way to meet people and get stuck in. If you can help please (or want to attend the course) please let Rosie know email@example.com
Christmas around the World: Many Christians around the world suffer increased persecution at Christmas. Please pray for them and if possible join us to pray at 4pm on Wednesday 20th Dec. at 21, Lenborough Rd when we will be praying for our Mission partners, the persecuted church and other areas of need. Further details from Zena (01280 309025) or firstname.lastname@example.org
Unhindered Worship: There will be ‘Unhindered Worship’ evenings on the third Monday of each month (excluding December) starting at 7.30pm. The next one will be on Monday 15th Jan 2018.
The Community Lunch will be having a raffle at their Christmas meal, on 19th December and would be grateful to receive donations of prizes please. Ideally, prizes should be gift wrapped and left in the yellow tray by the kitchen door by Monday 18th December please. It can be anything you like, sweet and savoury treats homemade jams, non alcoholic drinks; toiletries etc. as long as they are new and do please check the dates of anything edible. Many thanks Sheila and the team.
Emma Cottrell, Mission partner BPC: thank you for your encouragements and prayers, I have arrived in Israel. Over the 6 weeks here prayers especially appreciated for protection, safety and for the creativity ministry times and meetings that God uses them in the way He wants to bring His love and healing. If you’d like to receive the prayer updates while I’m away please e-mail me: email@example.com Thank you for your love and support.
Bookstall: Please do look at the bookstall which has CDs and bibles and books for children and adults, many of which would make great presents.
11am Visuals: We’d like to continue providing words on the screens for the 11am hymns. In order to do this, we need a small group of helpers who’d be willing to be trained to operate the system. It is literally clicking a mouse so not hard. Please let the office know if you can help.
Advent Courses: Evening courses continue at the Rectory Thornborough on Dec 13th at 7.30pm led by Rupert Bursell and Gussie Walsh. More details may be obtained from Gussie on 01280 821616 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Christmas Cards are on sale on the Traidcraft stall. Catalogues are available for ordering gifts. Sultanas and raisins are on sale for your Christmas baking, and lots more besides. Make your Christmas a fairly traded one.
Organ Recitals: Our recitals this year, celebrating the refurbishment of the 1913 Norman & Beard instrument, raised £610 towards The Centre’s outreach work. Thank you very much for your support. We are making plans for next year and would welcome your feedback. Rob Tucker.
