The Mission and Outreach Report

Rebound - Brian and Ann Hubbard.
Good news: the Rebound meeting on Monday mornings continues to grow slowly, with another lady joining us this week. Also, the participants decided they would like to continue to meet over the summer holidays. Ann will be starting to introduce some soft structure to the meetings based on the CAP Kick Start material
Praise the Lord for progress & the opportunity to bless these people with a safe place to meet & chat.
Please pray that more people who need the Lord in their lives will hear about the group, & that we are able to occupy any school-age children who come.

Prison Ministry - Paul Burgess
Please give thanks for all the lives saved & changed, for all those people who have come to know our Lord Jesus Christ through the grace of your Holy Spirit & through the Chaplaincy Prison Ministry. Continue to hold them & bless them all we pray
We remember those who are suffering from mental health issues including those who self-harm.   All who need to be set free the chains of bondage. We pray for reconciliation & healing remembering the victim’s & prisoner’s families.  Pray for forgiveness and healing through Jesus Christ.

Created Creative (CC) - Emma Cottrell
Thank you for your continued prayers for this ministry area. The Lord has ministered through creativity sessions over this last month powerfully to bring His truth & healing, praise Him.
Prayer points: Thanking God for how He is touching hearts & bringing His comfort & healing to individuals.
Please pray this month especially for wisdom for the trustees as we put together a grant application template & begin work on a short video to help explain better the ministry work of Created Creative.
Please pray for the CC team, thanking God for them & that He equips and blesses each one in their role & in all that needs to be done at this time.
Please pray for 2 new trustees - one with some financial/accounts interest.

Open Doors – Betsy Kolkea
China makes constant headlines: cyber-attacks, Uighur detention, strained trade relations.  What isn't so well known is the recent clamp down on Chinese churches.  There are thought to be over 100 million Chinese Christians.  However, following changes in the religious laws in 2018 their freedom is increasingly restricted.
Children are banned from attending religious activities. CCTV cameras with facial recognition are linked to a ‘Social Credit System’ which monitors & penalises religious activity. Churches are monitored & the sale of Bibles on-line is banned
How can we pray? That church leaders will have wisdom and courage as they lead their congregations through increased opposition & restriction.
That Christian converts from Islam and Buddhism will be courageous & firm in the face of strong opposition
That those in authority will have their eyes opened by God to the power of His
gospel for all who truly believe.

Prayer for the World - Zena Greig
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it. Psalm 24: 1

Please pray for climate justice in this time of climate crisis. As a result of extreme weather events many people are going hungry & being pushed back into poverty, whilst the damage to creation is accelerating.

Pray for world leaders to make just decisions, especially in the lead up to COP 26 in November, & for NGOs & aid agencies working to alleviate poverty.

Covid-19:  Please continue to pray for the fair and equitable distribution of the vaccine throughout the world & that promises made by richer nations, to donate vaccines, will be kept.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at BP Church for our Sunday Services starting at 9am, 11am or 6pm. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits before the services begin. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

What about my kids?

Click here for our kids programme.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.

Getting Connected

Connect Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Connect Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make Sundays run smoothly, you can sign up to serve on a team.

Other Ministries

We also run the following ministries:
